Wednesday, 20 November 2013 16:34

17 year old local girl Katie Poolton from Kinver, West Midlands, has found career success thanks to the Lifetime Fitness Academy and Government funded Apprenticeship programme.
A little over a year ago Katie had never stepped foot in a gym & now she works as a part time Fitness Instructor at Fitness First Brierley Hill, teaching spinning & gym floor core classes each week.

After completing her GCSE’s Katie went to study Dance at Kidderminster College, however she soon realised that the course wasn’t right for her. Katie had recently joined the local DW Gym and it was there, while talking to one of the new personal trainers about how he qualified, that she discovered the Lifetime Fitness Academy. She visited the Lifetime website that same day, found a course and signed herself up.

Katie completed her Level 2 Fitness Instructor course last summer and now she absolutely loves her job;She goes on to add “I have made so many friends through my course and I absolutely love working as a fitness instructor!”

Katie was 16 when she started her 3 week intensive course followed by a 12 week work placement at Fitness First in Brierley Hill. She explains,
“I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I have if I hadn’t discovered this course. It’s provided me with a great start to what I hope is a very successful career in health and fitness and I am now really excited about my future.”
